So you want to become rich, huh? Whether it's to brag to your friends, get that ever elusive Magicial Plushie, or even just to be able to rub elbows with the elite Neopians, there are a couple ways to earn fast Neopoints. One of course is to hit the Neopian Lottery. But we all know how often that will happen. Or you could play the Stock Market; until it crashes, that is. Another way would be to get a job at the Faerie Employment Agency. No guarantees there though unless you're either already rich or extremely lucky to have a Job Coupon. So the only way for us poor (and/or new) Neopian citizens to gain quick Neopoints is the old fashioned way; tough, backbreaking labor. No, don't go away, it was only a joke! Getting Neopoints is simple, all you need to do is know where to look. So, without further ado, I give to you:
TES's SCHEME...er...GUIDE to GETTING RICH QUICK!

1. Make sure you have a Bank Account and Safety Deposit Box. Have either of the following ever happened to you?

"Oh, look, I managed to snag some Neopoints from Dice a Roo! Yay! What...a random event stealing all of my points? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

"Hooray! I finally got all the pieces of the Secret Lab Map! Yay! What...the Pant Devil stole a piece? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

If either of these sound familiar, then you are suffering from a serious condition: Lackabankaccountitis. The very first thing that new Neopians should do in order to save Neopoints (and precious items!) is to go to the Neopian Bank and create a Bank Account. This not only gives you a safe place to store your hard earned Neopoints, but also a Safety Deposit Box to store your valuable items until you need them. Not only that, but points put into the bank also gain interest! Just make sure to collect the interest every day before making any transactions!

2. Freebies are your friend.

Throughout Neopia, there are several places that give out many free items, from food to Neopoints. The following is a list of places you absolutely have to visit, especially the food spots. After all, the less you spend on food, the more Neopoints you'll have, right? Please note that if you're new to the world of Neopia, a lot of these freebies will not be available to you until your account has reached a certain age.

Cereal Adventure  Here you can feed your Neopet a nice bowl of Mystery Islandberry Crunch cereal once per day!

The Money Tree  If you're quick and lucky, you can get just about anything from this magical donation taking tree!

The Shop of Offers  Here are a great many offers you can take and earn lots of Neopoints. However, the main focus for visiting here is the Slorg that's crawling around on the page. Click the slimy little petpet and you get a nice prize of 50 - 200 Neopoints!

Soup Kitchen  Located in the Neopian Marketplace, this is the home of the kind and generous Soup Faerie. She will feed your pet for free, but on one condition. You have to be poor! Go figure, huh? And by poor, I mean, poor. Less than 3000 Np has to be your combined total (on hand in and in the bank!), or she won't help you. Guess she's not as generous as we thought.

Tombola  Run by the proprietor of the Tiki Tack, this game is your average, run-of-the-mill random selection game. However, unlike some of the other games, this one doesn't have your average, run-of-the-mill prizes. If your number ends in 0, 2, or 5, you could get anything from a T-shirt to even Codestones and Faeries! Sometimes you even win a booby prize when you lose.

Deserted Tomb of Geraptiku  Located on the northern part of Mystery Island, this deserted tomb holds many secrets. When you go through the half-open door, anything can await you, even an avatar for your collection!

Coltzan's Shrine  This shrine dedicated to the late King Coltzan is home to one of the most interesting freebies there is. Once every twelve hours, you can come to this place and ask for the spirt of His majesty to assist you and your pet. The prize here is completely random. You can be awarded anything from a food item to a stat increase for your pet!

Fruit Machine  While this freebie doesn't pay out very often, it does offer great rewards. Match any two or three symbols to win a prize. These vary from 50 - 10,000 Neopoints and a piece of the fruit shown in the symbols you match. Sometimes you will get a surprise item too!

Giant Omelette  This gigantic egg in Tyrannia allows you to pick up one randomly selected Omelette flavor each day. Each Omelette can be used three times! For more information, check our complete guide.

Healing Springs  Home of a great and powerful Water Faerie; you can visit this soothing place and ask to be healed
once every thirty minutes. You may get your wish and have your pet's health restored completely, or you may be given a random potion from her collection! Check our guide for more information.

Underwater Fishing  Tucked away in the ruins of Old Maraqua is a cove home to this new sport. This is where your pet can increase their fishing stat. A higher stat means better stuff! Oftentimes you will either catch an inanimate object, or a fish. The fish can be eaten, but keep increasing that stat and come back a few times a day! Your persistance may pay off.

Turmaculus  The largest Turmac petpet known to Neopia; if your Neopet has a Petpet, and you are able to wake him, he may reward you by giving you a rare item, or he may eat your Petpet, resulting in an Avatar.

Rubbish Dump
Located in Meri Acres Farm and home to the ever elusive Dung Faerie, the Rubbish Dump is much like the Money Tree. However, no one is quite sure where the items come from.

The Snowager  Within the Ice Caves of Terror Mountain, there dwells a terrible, treasure guarding beast: A snake made of ice, the Snowager! During special times of the day, you can sneak in while this creature is asleep and attempt to steal one of his treasures, ranging from a Keychain to Scratchcards and even to rare items! Just hope he doesn't wake up and show you the true meaning of chill out. Read our guide for more information.

Giant Jelly  The super secret, non-existant Jelly World is home to this equally non-existant jumbo sized blob of jelly. Each day you're allowed one randomly selected slice of Jelly. These jelly blobs can be used twice. Beware the Poisonous Jelly! Check our guide for complete information.

2. Games! Or, how to bring home the (Seaweed) Bacon

Now to the nitty gritty of making your Neopoints wealth grow! No, not by watering it. Sorry, wish it worked like that, but it if it did, we'd all be rich! Anyway, Games are the primary source of income on Neopia and can quickly earn you points, if you know which ones to play. The following is a list of games that are fairly easy to play and pay out pretty well.

4. Play the Featured Game, no matter what it is. (Or else...the Snowager will eat you!)

Featured Games are games that are given special recognition for some reason or another. They change daily, but are still completely playable without any special restrictions. The big deal, however, is that they are worth double the normal amount of Neopoint output. For example, a featured game that normally gave 100 Np per 100pts scored would give 200 Np per 100pts scored. This results in points amassing very quickly from just playing this special game 3 times, even faster if it's a game you're good at. The trick is to make sure you play this game at least once! Remember, it changes daily. NOTE The Featured Game can be any of the games listed above, and many more not listed.

5. Sponsor Games: Get 'em while they last!

Yet another way to gain quick Neopoints by playing games is to track down the Sponsor Games. Sponsor Games are games given to Neopets by an outside source to promote their products. Many of these games are just personality quizzes, however there are quite a few that are more involved. Refer to our list of  Sponsor Games to find out what is available and where to find them!

6. Shops, Auctions and the Trading Post

So you have a Rare Item you just don't want? Or even better, you have doubles of it? Well, a shop, auction or the Trading Post is the answer!

  • Shops  It doesn't take much to have a shop, however it is not what you would call free to start one. It costs 150 Neopoints to initially set up and you have limited space, so the amount of items you can put in your shop is small. However, you can upgrade your shop by paying an additional amount of Neopoints, which continues to increase in proportion to the size. You have a direct control of how many Neopoints you wish to gain from the item, which can also be edited. Refer to our guide for more in-depth information.
  • Auctions   If you're desperate for some Neopoints, put your item in the Auction House. This can be done by selecting your item in your inventory and then selecting Put item in Auction! in the drop menu. Once this is done, you have the ability to set how much you want to start the auction at, how much you want each bid to increase by, and the duration of the auction. Please note that once you start an auction, you cannot stop it. If an item in an auction is not sold, it will be returned to you at the end of the auction.
  • Trading Post   If you have patience, or just want a really good item as opposed to Neopoints, you can put the item into the Trading Post. Perhaps the easiest method of getting rid of an unwanted item, the Trading Post is completely out of your control once you put an item in it, save for one thing. Unlike an auction, the Trading Post allows you to cancel a trade at any point in time. You also get to have a trade on the Trading Post for two weeks. However, even if there are offers pending on your trade,  your items will be automatically removed after two weeks. Refer to our guide for more in-depth information.

Well, there you are folks! Just follow these tips and you should be raking in the Neopoints, the easy way! *sings* I'm in the money....I'm in the money....
