Weary from your journey, you enter the young Kougra's ship cabin, hoping for a bit of distraction from the rolling sea. Instead of finding a refreshing cup of tea on the table before you, though, you see stacks of glittering, painted tiles. The Kougra invites you sit down and try her game, which she calls 'Kou-jong.' You begin matching the tiles, pair by pair, until the table is clear. As the Kougra starts restacking the tiles for the next round, you realize that you're beginning to feel quite relaxed. This game looks very similar to the well known game Mah-Jong, and many of the rules are also similar. Simply click on identical tiles using your mouse to make matches for points. Beat the bonus clock in order to gain even more points! Going to the normal Kou-Jong link right now results in this message: It appears the mysterious ship that once docked on these shores has left harbour. Where could it have gone? Some say that this may be because of glitches in the game, others say it has to do with the plot, but whatever the reason is, the game is currently gone it's normal location. We here at NeoLodge don’t want you to be without any games, so we have an alternative link to the game. Don’t worry, you can still send your score!
There are three levels of difficulty to choose from: Easy, Medium, and Hard. The levels not only vary in difficulty but also in amount of bonus time and hints available. The amount of bonus time and hints available stay the same for every stage in that level of difficulty. When a stage is completed both the bonus time and hints available are reset back to their original numbers.
Each level of difficulty is broken up into three stages. In each stage a new Kou-Jong puzzle will be given. In order to move on to the next stage the current puzzle must be completed. The amount of tiles and the formation of the tiles will get progressively harder each stage. New tiles will also be added in higher stages. The score is broken up into two parts: stage points and total points. Stage points are the points that have been acquired during the current stage. The stage points are added into the total points after every stage is completed. Total points are the total amount of points accumulated throughout the entire game, the total of all the stages and bonuses. This is the main score that will determine how many Neopoints are awarded when the score is sent.
Every time two tiles are correctly matched, two points will be awarded. No points are given for completing the entire puzzle, but if it is completed before the bonus time runs out then the remaining bonus will be turned into points and added to your score. The game does not end if the bonus time runs out before the stage is completed. Remember, bonus time is restored for each new stage, so if it runs out for Stage 1 you still have a chance to receive bonus points for stages 2 and 3. All the tiles that match will have identical pictures with two small exceptions. There are two groups of tiles that can be matched together. Any of the flower tiles can be matched with any of the other flower tiles, and any of the season tiles can be matched with any of the other season tiles. Notice the Season tiles are images from the worlds of Neopia.
When there are no possible matches remaining a message will pop up saying to click the reset button. Clicking the reset button will clear stage points but it will not have any affect on total points. It will also reset bonus and hints, and surprisingly, there is no limit on how many times the game can be reset.
Sometimes, when you’re extremely unlucky, the last two matching tiles are stacked on top of each other. This may be frustrating, but there’s nothing that can be done to fix it. Just press the reset button and try again!
The most confusing part of this game is how to tell which tiles can be clicked on and which can’t. A tile that is able to be clicked on is normally referred to as a free tile, and a tile that is unable to be clicked on or used is usually called a stuck tile. A tile is free when the left or right side is open, meaning no tiles are around the left or right side. A free tile must also not have any tiles on top of or partially covering it. If the top or bottom side of a tile is open, but the left or right side is not, it is a stuck tile and will not work. Using two tiles right next to each other will not work unless both tiles are free, for example:
The two Cyodrake tiles on the left side are a match, and the two season tiles on the right are also a match. Unfortunately, neither match is able to work because the two tiles in the middle are stuck. Tips to Win
A score of 1,195 will normally put you in the running for a trophy.
