Here you can create your very own Neopian Adventure and challenge all your neofriends to finish it.
Or, if you're more the adventuring type, venture out on journeys other Neopians have written.

Use the keyboard, your creativity, and imagination to write an adventure story to display to all of Neopia! In this action game, you can also read other Neopian's adventure stories for fun.

When creating an adventure simply follow the straightforward instructions that are outlined. You will be asked to fill in information such as the title, setting, type of adventure, appearance, suppression, and the actual adventure itself. Now, it may seem quite simple, but creating a GOOD adventure is the tricky part. Each Neopet account can only create one adventure, so think carefully before you commit yourself to your adventure. Only accounts over age 13 are able to create adventures.

The title is what the adventure will be called and it is also featured in your userlookup. It is important to make the title something informative and attention grabbing. It may be a good idea to go ahead and write the adventure first and then decide on a title. That way you'll know exactly what your adventure is about and the title can focus on the adventure. Remember, adventures can always be edited so changing the title multiple times is not a problem.

The setting chosen for your adventure should be the place that matches it the best. Again, it may be a good idea to go ahead and write the adventure first and then decide where the adventure mainly takes place. If the adventure doesn't take place in any particular place you may just want to choose a location based on personal preference, but it's really a good idea to try to find the setting that matches your adventure the best.

The type of adventure chosen is very important. It will decide which category your adventure is placed under when other users search for adventures. The different categories include: comedy, drama, fantasy, battle, instructional, test/quiz, mystery, quest, role playing, and science fiction. Each adventure type is very different.

  • The comedy category is for adventures that will make the reader laugh. Jokes and all around silliness should be included in your adventure.
  • The drama category is for adventures that are much more serious. Dramatic adventures should cause the reader to have emotions about the characters and situations in the adventure.
  • The fantasy category is for adventures that allow your imagination to run wild. Nothing in this category has to be realistic, so just have fun with it.
  • Go to the battle category if you want to write adventures that involve fighting or battledome-like scenes. Wars can also be included, so it may be fun to make one about a previous Neopian war, or simply make up your own.
  • The instructional category involves teaching the reader about something. It can be about something Neopian such as caring for neopets or it can be about something completely random.
  • The test/quiz category is much different than the others. These adventures have no plot. They involve asking the reader questions. The questions can determine what kind of neopet the reader is or something similar to that depending on how creative you are. They can also include trivia type questions. Just be creative!
  • For adventures that include a lot of suspense try the mystery category. Most of the mystery adventures are about solving various crimes.
  • Quest adventures involve a character on a mission to locate something. The character normally runs into obstacles along the way. Quest adventures can vary from this basic outline, but it's not as common.
  • The role playing category is where the reader is actually put into the adventure. They are told in second person narration. For example, "You're running from the giant Krawk when all of a sudden a Korbat comes flying towards you. What do you do?" Then various choices are given to the reader.
  • The science fiction category is usually based on aliens and space travel, but can include other things. Normally these adventures include Neopian characters and places such as Sloth, Sloth clones, Kreludor, Grundos, and the Virtupets Space Station.
The appearance of the adventure can show the reader that you put a lot of time and effort into it to make it good for them. Including pictures in the adventure can make it really look nice and add to the overall interest of the adventure. The pictures should be taken from the Neopet site. Do not go to other sites looking for images. If you're unsure of how to include pictures there's a help button included in the game. There's also a Neopet's basic HTML guide that can help with how to do the necessary things.

The font color must be readable. Click the preview button constantly to make sure that the adventure colors go well together and that the font can be read without highlighting or squinting.

The colors chosen for the adventure should match the setting, so try to think of the setting when choosing colors. If you don't choose any colors for the adventure then colors matching your setting will automatically be chosen for you.

The suppression is a very simple decision. Suppressing the page numbers will make the page numbers so they are not revealed. If page numbers are not suppressed then they will show on the adventure pages. With most adventures page numbering should be suppressed.

The actual adventure itself is obviously the most important part. It's important to make the adventure interesting and fun to read. No one will want to read a boring adventure. Make the adventure unique and unlike other adventures. Be descriptive in the adventure and don't use chatspeak. Many people will not want to read an adventure that uses chatspeak. Be sure to keep the adventure appropriate and on a G or PG level. You can be warned or frozen for writing an inappropriate adventure. Think about all the previous steps taken and include all aspects of the adventure. For example, if you're writing a comedy adventure set in Mystery Island be sure to include both of those parts in the adventure. Use good grammar and correct spelling. No one wants to read an adventure they have to struggle to understand.

After the adventure is written you may choose to go back and edit it. This is always an option. All parts of the adventure can easily be edited. Simply click the edit button as shown above on the main page. Edit your page properties is where you can go to change title, setting, appearance, and suppression. While editing you can also add more pages to your adventure, lock your adventure, and delete specific pages or your entire adventure.

Locking an adventure is done when the adventure is completely finished and does not need anymore editing. Locking the adventure will allow other users to play it. Unlocking your adventure is always an option if more editing needs to be done.

The adventure must be locked for it to be seen and played by other users.

Playing adventures is another option that involves a lot less work on your part. Here, you can search for adventures by creator or by type. You can also see the top 40 adventures or choose the Random option to have an adventure selected for you.

The goal of all adventures is to try to get to the end of the adventure. If you begin to play an adventure and must stop midway through for some reason you have the option of coming back to continue it in the Current Games area.

After playing an adventure it is always nice to rate them so that the author can know what you thought of it.

Instead of trophies this game has a weekly spotlight in which an adventure is featured. To be considered as a winner of the spotlight you must enter using the entry form.  The winner of each spotlight receives 10,000 neopoints and a trophy.
